If you’ve ever played a round at Pebble Beach Golf Links, odds are you’ve come away with memories of the Tap Room, the property’s unofficial 19th hole.
The walls of the bar and restaurant are lined with historic memorabilia, meant for looking and not for touching.
Now, though, you can take a piece of the famous hangout home.
In collaboration with Musty Putters, a California-based outfit known for its custom work with wood, Pebble has released a limited-edition putter, handcrafted from reclaimed cherry wood from the Tap Room’s original bar.
The material became available early this year, shortly after the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, when renovations began on The Lodge at Pebble Beach, including its restaurants and guest reception area. As that sweeping overhaul got underway, the Tap Room was relocated to a temporary space overlooking the first fairway while its kitchen, bar and dining room were torn up for upgrades and expansions. A revamped Tap Room is slated to reopen in November.
Meantime, what to do with that original cherry wood?
The Tap Room, which opened in 1949, is the oldest restaurant at the resort, and its bar has always been a lively gathering place, backed by salvers, sepia-toned photos and assorted mementos to the characters and competitions that have come and gone at Pebble Beach. You could fill a book with the stories told around it. Rather than let that old bar go to waste, Pebble found a new purpose for it.
A blend of high-performance and understated style, each limited-edition putter (250 were produced altogether) is laser-etched with the Pebble Beach lone-cypress tree logo on top and the Tap Room insignia on the bottom with a black grip over a custom-alloy shaft. They are available for right- and left-handed players and retail for $500.
